Genocidal processes: social death in Xinjiang

چکیده
Genocide is a series of long-term processes emerging from “states emergency” to convert targeted groups and secure the nation. This paper builds on Critical Studies literature historically contextualize China’s “fusion” policy, narrative emergency officially explaining extra-legal internment camps inter-generational separation in Xinjiang. Although policymakers traditionally frame “one-nation-one-state thinking” as Western colonialism, critical approaches Chinese politics show party-state frames ethnic identities through colonial binaries backward/modern savagery/civilization. How does party-state’s “historic mission” overcome “humiliation” promote colonialism? The analyses how routine, dehumanizing official narratives identity danger enable genocides, conceptualized planned social death by attrition. It argues that contemporary policy interweaves cultural superiority ethnocentric developmentalism, seeking resolve “ethnic problem” decolonize Xinjiang Turkic Muslims.

1 Description of the Model This case study is analog to the one described in [2]. We considered a system consisting of a fixed number of m processors and an infinite queue for storing job requests. The processing speed of a processor is described by the rate γ, while λ describes the incoming rate of new jobs. If a new job arrives while at least one processor is idle, the job will be processed d...

Integral functionals of Markov processes are widely used in stochastic modeling for applications in ecology, evolution, infectious disease epidemiology, and operations research. The integral of a stochastic process is often called the “cost” or “reward” accrued by the process. Many important stochastic counting models can be written as general birth-death processes (BDPs), which are continuous-...

This study used diaries to investigate social comparison processes in 59 individuals with social phobia (SP) and 58 nonclinical controls. Although groups did not differ on the total number of comparisons made during the 2-week study period, those with SP made significantly more upward comparisons (i.e., comparisons where the individual assesses himor herself as not measuring up to others) and s...
متن کاملConsolidating Birth-Death and Death-Birth Processes in Structured Populations
Network models extend evolutionary game theory to settings with spatial or social structure and have provided key insights on the mechanisms underlying the evolution of cooperation. However, network models have also proven sensitive to seemingly small details of the model architecture. Here we investigate two popular biologically motivated models of evolution in finite populations: Death-Birth ...
متن کاملAssociation Behaviour in Non-Linear Death Processes
Transition probabilities within a birth and death process are difficult to find analytically. As a consequence pure birth and pure death processes are considered in seperate systems and it is found that both systems can be fully specified from intensity specifications. In a linear continuous-time Markovian pure death process it is found that optional death times are independent. Faddy (1985) co...
